Hi there! I'm MJ! I've been writing for about 9 years now, and I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV for almost 4 years!Sovuphos is one of my most precious characters and I love getting to write with her, as well as work on her story! Getting to RP as her with others is so rewarding, and it's one of my favorite hobbies!Outside of FFXIV, I'm a full-time music student with a focus on vocal music! I love to play video games (like Baldur's Gate 3, Devil May Cry 5, and Destiny 2) and I love listening to music (I love bands like Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and The Amazing Devil).

  personality.     Sovuphos is described as charming, sweet, and very fun to be around. She loves attention, but isn't demanding for it. In fact, she struggles to admit her desires out of fear of being too greedy. While she seems confident and experienced, it's incredibly easy to fluster her! She isn't unreasonable, however. A couple of deep breaths, and she's usually back to normal.Sovuphos has a big heart and is very ambitious, and once she has her mind set on something, she isn't easily deterred. She's never one to back down from a challenge, but she struggles to ask for help if she's in too deep. This can lead to some issues concerning her work and personal goals, as she hates being a burden. She also struggles with personal attachment and distancing herself from others, which leads to issues with friends and clients.Sovuphos is loyal to a fault, and values her morals, her friends, and her found family.

headcanon one. Sovuphos speaks Eorzean Common, and is semi-fluent in Hingan! She learned the language as a child helping her Mother, Lelvazen, with her trading business! She's a little rusty at the moment, but knows enough to get herself through basic conversation.headcanon two. While she's primarily a healer now, she used to be somewhat of a Bard! Lelvazen taught her how to use a bow at an early age, and it was what originally brought her to Eorzea! She even learned how to play the harp and sing battle songs!headcanon three. Sovuphos has calls her mothers by different names! She calls Yire "Mother", and Lelvazen is known simply as "Mama."

headcanon four. Sovuphos isn't a heavy drinker, but she does like alcohol! Her favorite kinds of drinks include sweeter wines (like Moscato or Rosé), fruity cocktails, and the occasional glass of bourbon (the sweet kinds, of course!)headcanon five. The glowing stars on her skin are scars, whether or not they'll ever heal is anyone's guess, but Sovuphos doesn't seem to mind them too much!headcanon six. Sovuphos has a Chocobo named Parsley! She's had him since he was a chick! She uses him to help till the garden in her backyard, as well as for transportation. He has white feathers.

ability one. Dreamwalking. With a combination of sleep magic and meditation, Sovuphos can access the Dream Realms of others while they sleep. She uses this ability to discover hidden problems in her patient's sleeping patterns.ability two. Astral Projection. Using a more difficult spell and some meditation, Sovuphos can project her soul into the Lifestream, in a way similar to The Calling spell the Crystal Exarch uses. This allows her to visit other stars and their inhabitants.ability three. Archery. Sovuphos has several years worth of training with the Bow, and can defend herself without magic if need be!

ability four. Aetheric Manipulation. On a smaller scale, Sovuphos can take bits of aether in the air around her and mess with it, her favorite trick is to create little stars in her palm and pass them between her fingers. On a larger scale, she can help balance out aether in someone's soul. But it requires a lot of energy, and will leave her drained for weeks.ability five. Bonding Charms. On a very rare occasions, when her energy permits, she can place a strong blessing on someone of her choosing. This enchantment allows the blessed person to contact Sovuphos no matter where she is, so that she may help them if they need her. Only one person has received this blessing so far.ability six. Gardening. Sovuphos learned to cultivate plants growing up, and with the use of her white magic, she can shorten the amount of time needed to grow her garden!

Sovuphos' story begins in Old Sharlayan. For reasons unknown, she was given up as a baby by her birth parents. The two snuck her aboard a trading vessel destined for Limsa Lominsa in Eorzea, leaving behind a silver pendant as the only hint that they were ever there. During the voyage, a Vieran archer named Lelvazen, was on a months-long job assignment guarding cargo aboard the ship when she found the lilac-haired kit in a shipping crate, wrapped in blankets aplenty and no family to be found. With no one around to care for her, the Viera took on the responsibility of the kit and finished her job early to return home to her village in the Skatay Range.Her wife, another Viera by the name of Yire, was stunned to see a Miqo’te child in her lover’s arms and had no shortage of questions for Lelvazen. The two had a long talk, where mentions of their shared desire to raise a family resurfaced (Yire was infertile, and Lelvazen knew of no surrogate). They were hesitant to take on a child so suddenly, but seeing as this felt like a sign, they agreed to care for her.They named her Sovuphos, and raised her like she was their own. Lelvazen taught her how to use a bow, and Yire taught her advanced healing magicks and how to grow medicinal plants.

The village Sovuphos was raised in didn't belong to an ordinary Viera clan. Instead, it was a community formed of outcast Viera who were ousted from their original tribes, or simply runaways. After she brought Sovuphos home, Lelvazen retired from being a ship guard and instead formed her own trading business, allowing the clan to still receive the funds and supplies they would have received otherwise from her original job. Yire was the clan's resident white mage, healing the village people and the occasional traveler that happened to pass through, but hat was a rare event.Sovuphos was an adventurous kit, spending her days helping others around the village, including her mothers. Lelvazen sometimes took her outside the village to complete trades with neighboring towns and taught her archery. When she wasn't practicing her bow, she'd help Yire with the sick and injured, and even learned white magic. She excelled greatly, and as she grew, Sovuphos found herself using her own magic to help the village.Reaching the age of 19, Sovuphos felt bored with her place in life. She loved helping her mothers, but she wanted something more. Confessing this to them, they suggested she travel to the continent of Eorzea, to the citystate of New Gridania to practice with the Archer's Guild. After some thought, she agreed and bid her mothers goodbye, boarding the next boat to the West.

Upon arriving in New Gridania, Sovuphos registered herself with the city state and made her way to enlist in the Archer's Guild. She took up various jobs while simultaneously improving her skill with the bow, earning her keep, and helping the people of Gridania.Despite being happy that she was starting to make her way in life, she missed home. Her dreams were plagued with nightmares, and her nights were restless. She spent weeks trying to cope, but to no avail. Reaching her wits end, she suddenly remembered something her Mother, Yire, used to do to help her sleep as a kit. She'd hum these... lullabies, that helped her sleep when it didn't come naturally to her. Out of desperation, she wrote her Mother a letter, asking her to send any notes or references of spells that related to the lullabies.After some time, she received a parcel with a letter from Mother, telling her that everything she needed was within the package and that she missed her. Inside the box was a spellbook filled with notes and references to the rituals Yire used to help Sovu sleep as a child, and something related to "the magic of dreams."

Sovuphos took to action immediately, using the spellbook to create wards and make tinctures to help induce sleep. Within a few days, she was sleeping as she had when she was home with her family. With her problem fixed, she could return to being an archer! But her curiosity had been peaked by the spellbook, and she decided to delve deeper. She practiced the spells, expanding her magical understanding of sleep magic.After much thought, she decided to switch paths. Using her prior white magic knowledge, she joined the Conjurer's Guild and began to hone her craft. Learning every spell she could get her hands on and extending her aetheric stamina, she became an accomplished White Mage.She pursued her studies for years, eventually settling into a cottage in the heart of the Black Shroud and operating it as a sort of Doctor's Office. She began to help the residents of the Shroud with various ailments and conditions, and word eventually spread of a mysterious Aetheric Witch in the forest.

Life continued on for Sovuphos. She continued to use the spellbook Yire gave her, practicing the rituals within and mastering their secrets as she maintained her business as a healer. She wondered if she could combine her white magic with the spells within the tome, and began to experiment. By combining rituals from the spellbook and meditating, she discovered that she could manipulate the aether around her to grant herself access to pockets of the Lifestream. It was by accident at first that she managed to discover this, but she began to practice it more often.Her first endeavors were taxing, leaving her out of commission for almost two weeks between each attempt. Eventually, though, it grew easier, and the desire to try her new abilities on a patient arose. She knew, however, that it should only be used in a dire situation. Power like hers would be too much for something that could be easily fixed by a potion or routine changes.And so, she bided her time, practicing her rituals and increasing her strength until the right person came along. Eventually, her patience was rewarded with an urgent knock on her cottage door one morning. Upon opening the door, she was greeted by an Elezen man in fine clothes, his face knitted with worry. In his arms was his son, presumably only a few years old by the look of him, with dark circles under his eyes. She ushered them both into her cottage quickly.

The child's father claimed they came from Ishgard after hearing about her work from travelers. He explained to her that for the past two years, his son had been plagued by horrible nightmares and sleepless nights. He went to many healers, but none were able to help. Realizing the gravity of the situation, she suggested trying the rituals she had practiced. Out of desperation, the Elezen didn't need to hear much about the specifics to be sold on it. He gave her permission instantly.Everything went normal up until she entered her meditative trance, the pockets of aether all looked the same except for one. She was instantly drawn to it, the aura tingling with strong magic. She took the leap, and found herself within the child's Dream Realm. An imbalance of aether within in soul had manifested as a Fell Beast. To rebalance his aether, she downed the monster and took the excess aether upon herself to release it back into the Sea, but the temporary burden on her soul left burns across her skin.Waking from the ritual, she found the child sleeping soundly in his father's arms. She was relieved, up until she noticed the strange glance on the Elezen's face. Looking down, she finally noticed the glowing stars present on her skin. After the Elezen and his son left, she spent weeks trying to get rid of the stars on her skin, but to no avail. But with the appearance of the stars, her powers grew. She gained the ability of soul projection, and learned to dream walk. Now, she helps her clients with sleep ailments and aetheric troubles.
